NOTE: "One for a girl..." παῖδος ("youth" here) is ungendered, but the word in its other forms (e.g. πάις) is mostly used by Sappho to refer to girls, sometimes in a romantic context such as in 49, Atthis, once, though other translators may interpret the youth as a boy.
Sweet mother! no more, you see, can I weave my web: under a
Longing I've been subdued – one for a girl – so tenderly by Aphrodite.
